Looks a little out of place given the fantasy aesthetic of LoL, but Esports isn't about immersion or the aesthetic of the game - it's about the skill of the players.
I think it's fine.
Outside of Esports, this kind of stuff is more hit or miss, but in places where it's a good fit and not executed in an intrusive manner, I think it can actually enhance the game. It fit Wipeout perfectly, and the presence of a real-world brand added to the sense of believability and realism.
Lets cast farsight and reveal what the future holds.
"Come on, man. It is just a 5 minute ad video that runs in loading screens. Totally fine, man"
If it adds to the atmosphere, then it's fine. That almost never happens.
Product placement is already pretty hit-or-miss, it could be fun or it could destroy the fantasy. If there's an ad banner in some soccer game arena, it can make it feel more real, and it's better than silly mock brands.
E-sports is a bit different, since the focus is on technical gameplay, strategy, and tactics, not the art. Not to say any competitive game should have neon advertisements or uninterruptible truck commercials, everyone hates that.
I really like how you put quotes around "non-intrusive", that's some noisy looking shit.
In League of legends, no, it doesn't fit the setting. In a racing simulation where the ads are expected due to being race tracks, tis fine.
Eh, for a game like LOL that's free to play I don't mind. If it's a game I've purchased already then I'd be pissed.
