Same here. I remember it like it was just yesterday joining Reddit for the first time in its first year, an immigrant from 4chan /b/, and the influence of /b/tards was still very strong back then (to the point where most of the humor-related subs were all largely just soft extensions of /b/) and debate and argument were the norm. And it carried a strong atmosphere of 'if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.'
Aside from the dark period of getting swept up in the circlejerk of /r/atheism, it was truly a special time and place for a little while. And yet now look at it. In signing up here I was reminded of all the accounts I lost in recent years simply because they couldn't tolerate differences of opinion. It would be amazing, in a way, if it weren't so disappointing to see how toxic Reddit has become. If anything, Reddit is even worse now than Digg ever was, even at the end.
I can't believe you would just go on the internet and commit violence like that!
Up until about a week ago, I was getting pretty serious about Civilization V the last few months, but my hatred for Alexander was too great, so I ordered a game that I missed at launch and forgot about for a good long while: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor. Haven't actually sat down with it yet since it just came in this afternoon, but I definitely expect good things from it.
