So a few years ago I wrote several articles about Reddit being a disgusting platform. More specifically, Reddit had a bunch of subs openly advertising paedophilia in the text index as I set out in my article - Reddit Bans /r/PedoWorld and /r/PedoCity the Day After MHN Article.
Abandoning Reddit has been long overdue.
Given all the upheaval today, could KiA perhaps use it to advertise the KotakuInAction.win platform enthusiastically?
I'm all for it personally - I find more and more reddit is becoming a sinkhole.
I am fine with folks using mean words and would rather they be allowed to do so rather then constantly walking the razors edge due to the ever present looming threat that "everything we say will be used against us" by the reddit admin - forcing us to slowly keep moving the rules bar more and more to the SJW standard.
You have to tiptoe around .win; Reddit has hard blocks in place against linking, that Mods can't override. That, and the platform was kinda sputtery yesterday with the added traffic; a concerted push would probably flatten it.
I don't know, patriots.win does just fine. The reason I ask is that posts on the reddit.com version of KiA do not even mention this place obliquely. Perhaps they are not allowed by the Reddit admins. Maybe u/HandOfBane could clarify?
Two days after we got this site up and running publicly, Reddit hard blocked all links to it, similar to what they did to thedonald.win at the time - any comment with a link was force-removed by the sitewide automod and could not be manually overridden by moderators to approve it. Even editing the link out of the comment/post, it would still be unapprovable. The admins went so far as to hard block even roundabout references to TD (such as adding spaces in between each letter like "t h e d o n a l d d o t w i n").
They did not go that far on references we made to this site (we can still for now say "kotakuinaction dot win", and we do occasionally), but it's just a matter of time and reports made around us to the admins before it does end up locked. My attempts to get an answer out of the admins on why we were hard blocked when nothing on our front page links to TD at all were met with silence.
As of right now, we occasionally point people this way via that "dot win" reference, and have a shortened link to here in our sidebar listed as "Lifeboat". We do also own kotakuinaction.net, which has been set to redirect here.
It worked. I'm here.
Good luck, people love that site and their censorship, that's why they are there, .win sites were censored as many other things.
