As much as I don’t like the Zuck, I am glad that at least some major companies are not backing down fully to mob rule. I still dislike Facebook and it’s issues but I wish more companies and people wouldn’t back down.
Granted cancel culture sucks and I understand a lot of folks are scared to lose their jobs, or in some situations, their families/gf’s losing their jobs too. This has all just gone way too far.
I think it may also be that FB has the most mature lobbying efforts in DC, and they understand just how badly tech is fucking themselves right now and have drawn the line.
Trying to get FB out of both the censorship business and politics business (a complete ban on political ads of any sort from any party on FB might not be a bad idea) is probably the best path to not getting fucked over.
Twitter is instead furiously shoving their dick into a hornet nest.
Zuck keeps floating between based and cucked. But in this case, those "500" advertisers are distributed across their company owners and agencies in such a way that they're aren't actually halting advertising. Just doing a behind the scenes shuffle to make it look like it to get woke bucks.
