Looks a little out of place given the fantasy aesthetic of LoL, but Esports isn't about immersion or the aesthetic of the game - it's about the skill of the players.

I think it's fine.

Outside of Esports, this kind of stuff is more hit or miss, but in places where it's a good fit and not executed in an intrusive manner, I think it can actually enhance the game. It fit Wipeout perfectly, and the presence of a real-world brand added to the sense of believability and realism.

My alts get suspended for ban evasion on a daily basis. I laff every time.

Not in the least bit surprised. Over on /r/badunitedkingdom it's generally assumed that most virulently nationalist/seperatist online Irish/Scots are Americans larping as their 23andme result, desperately trying to be as Irish or Scottish as possible, but instead just becoming embarassing caricatures.

I'm stunned that any social media nonsense would be allowed on company devices at a fucking bank.

That's just asking for trouble.

Some of the leftist academics are finally realizing that they will be lynched by their own students if things keep going the way they are. They've realised that the purity spiral they set spinning might violently throw them out.

Budgets and team sizes could be slashed in half and the only thing we'd have to sacrifice for it are autistic levels of graphical detail that have never ever been necessary as anything other than a lure.

Gaming could go back in time 10 years and retain nothing more than the modern quality of life improvements to controls and UI, and literally nothing of value would be lost.

it's so bad parts of the world (mainly UK, but US is at least considering) are taking in Hong Kong refugees in mass

As soon as they confirm they're willing to take HK refugees, China will most likely suspend all travel off the island.

I hate to say it, but the HK'ers haven't got a hope in hell.

The thing everyone should understand is that a tornado of drama follows Zoe everywhere she goes. Everything she touches becomes a total shitfest of bitching, burnt bridges and hurt feelings. It's a recurring phenomenon that happens in her vicinity.

It should be obvious to anyone who takes a step back and looks at the timeline of events that Zoe herself is not only the root cause of every problem she has, but that ultimate outcome of most of her 'problems' is a net positive for her.

She is an internet savvy, socially savvy individual who clearly knows how to play a certain breed of nerdy males like fiddles - she has a great knack for getting guy after guy after guy to do... basically anything she wants.

Women can smell desperation a mile away, but while most women avoid such men like the plague, Zoe gravitates to them because she understands just how useful their easily swayed minds can be to her, and how easily she can take them down if they get wise to her tricks.

Zoe Crashed that Game Jam because she wanted attention that she knew she wouldn't get if it went ahead as planned. She knew she wouldn't get it, because she knows she can't make a game worth shit - not even a 5 minute flash game. What she knew she COULD do, though, was get a bunch of male nerds to rally around her for a minute chance at tapping an anime-haired gamer girl with a cyborg arm tattoo who wasn't 300lbs.

That fact that it's his sister and not some rando groupie he fucked in his trailer one time makes me think this is probably true. That said, there's no way of knowing what grievance she has against him. It could be that she's just some broke nobody resentful of her successful brother and how he's stopped bailing her out. Hard to say until we hear his defense.

I actually hated all of that shit, so I'm glad to see it go.

...However, I would be lying if I said I didn't think this is probably a canary in the coalmine signalling the beginning of the end for the platform.

I've been online since the late 90's and in that time I've seen enough online services rise and fall to know that as soon as you see the money men start calling the shots and begin aping other popular services, the platform is on the way out and we'll all be moving somewhere else in the next few years.

Technically it refers to a mute person, but I haven't heard or seen it used to mean that even once in my entire fucking life.
